Alright let’s roll back to 1962, in the Caribbean Sea, country Jamaica.

Dr. No (1962)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Gruen Precision 510
  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538
Gruen Precision 510

Dr. No was the film that started everything, to be exact, the most iconic line in the movie “Bond, James Bond” reveals the first watch of Bond. It is a golden Gruen Precision 510, brushed thin bezel surrounding a white sunburst dial. The watch features arabic and dauphine hour markers with a crosshair subdial at 6 o’clock.

Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

The second watch is the infamous “James Bond Submariner”, a Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538, gilt dial, oversized crown without guards and affixed to a leather strap.

Even until today, the Submariner remains the exact same layout. A thick diver bezel, luminous dot, baton and arrow markers, as well as a set of luminous mercedes hands.

From Russia with Love (1963)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538
Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

One year after Dr. No, Eon production released the second James Bond title. Both Sean Connery and his Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538 remain to be the leading actor and the Bond’s Watch.

For many who don’t know, the watch has two variants. Which are two and four liner dial, the visual difference is at 6 o’clock, as the name implies, two and four lines of text.

The four liner Submariner Ref. 6538 has two more lines of text: “OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” and “CHRONOMETER”. Meaning that the watch manufactured or assembled in Switzerland has met the criteria of chronometer ISO 3159.

MatchesWatch 101

A four liner version of Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538 was sold for $567,000 in 2018. [1]

Goldfinger (1964)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

After the huge success of Dr. No and From Russia with Love, Goldfinger broke the box office record with Sean Connery and his Rolex Submariner. The title earned over $125 million in 1964. [2]

Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

In Goldfinger, a focus shot is given to the Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538 affixed with NATO strap. What else can be more fascinating than Sean Connery Bond, a British Royal Navy Commander wearing a Rolex Submariner on NATO strap. The scene creates a timeless trend of pairing NATO straps with Submariner.

Thunderball (1965)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Breitling Top Time
  • Gruen Precision 510
  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

Bonus Watch:

  • Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806
Breitling Top Time

Thunderball was supposed to be the first James Bond series, but legal disputes delayed the release of the title until 1965.

Sean Connery continues the role of 007 and we have a newcomer for Bond’s watch in the movie.

This was the first James Bond movie to feature a franken watch. It is a modified Breitling Top Time Ref. 2002 given by Q (a fictional character in James Bond movie), to serve as a Geiger counter in the plot. The watch is placed into a tunnel style case, classic baton hour markers and a reverse panda dial.

The exact watch from the film was found at an English flea market in 2013, that lucky fellow bought it for £25 and resold over £100,000. [3]

Gruen Precision 510
Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538 on Nato Strap

Sean Connery also wears a Gruen Precision 510 and a Nato Strap Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538.

Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806

There is a bonus watch not worn by Bond, a Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806 which makes an appearance at the scene where Bond returns François Derval’s possessions to his sister Domino.

The Navitimer delivers a black dial with three inverted chronograph subdials. The watch sits on a steel case and matches with a black leather strap.

The watch was popular for a side rule feature which acts like a mechanical calculator. You can measure fuel consumption, air speed and distance with it. Infact, even today some pilots are still trained to use them in case their equipment fails to operate.

You Only Live Twice (1967)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Gruen Precision 510
Gruen Precision 510

This was the first James Bond movie that doesn’t follow Ian Fleming’s plot, it’s a new story based on some characters from the original novel.

Sean Connery remains the role of James Bond in the movie, but we will miss him in the next title. We can hardly spot any watch in the film, but many movie buffs believe that he is wearing his private collection, the golden Gruen Precision 510.

Casino Royale (1967) – Non-Eon Film

James Bond Actor: David Niven

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex GMT Master

The first non Eon James Bond movie. Charles K. Feldman acquired the movie rights in 1960 and tried to work with Eon production on the founding title of the James Bond novel. But they failed to come to an agreement which Feldman resolved to produce the movie as a satire.

Feldman went on with David Niven as James Bond and he managed to pull a financial success movie but with terrible reviews from the media and 007 fans. [4]

Rolex GMT Master Pepsi

The only shot on Bond’s watch is where Bond receives a signal on his Rolex GMT Master from Vesper Lynd (Bond’s girl). Her face covers the dial and it is impossible to tell the exact model, but it is definitely a Rolex GMT Master Pepsi which can tell from the unique bezel.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

James Bond Actor: George Lazenby

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex Submariner
  • Rolex Chronograph Ref. 6238

When Sean Connery retired from the James Bond movie, Eon production made George Lazenby the second James Bond.

Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513
Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538

The movie features two Bond’s watch. One of the watches is a Rolex Submariner and was put on top of a copy machine, I’m not sure about the exact model, some say it’s a Ref. 5513 and some say it’s a Ref. 6538.

Rolex Chronograph Ref. 6238

The other Bond’s watch is a Rolex Chronograph Ref. 6238. Also known as the pre-Daytona, which features the symbolic oyster case and pump pusher. The only difference will be the inner tachymeter on the dial, while the Daytona lineup engraves it on the bezel.

To be honest, I have never seen any Rolex Daytona more elegant than this. It’s a beautiful silver dial decorated with a sunburst pattern, which matches with the steel bracelet and polished bezel. Every part is beyond words and this is the Daytona I’m dreaming for.

Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Gruen Precision 510
Gruen Precision 510

Sean Connery was back to the franchise but not the watch, it’s extremely difficult to confirm which watch he is wearing.

Most of the movie fans believe that it is the classic Gruen Precision 510 from the glimpse of the watch.

Live and Let Die (1973)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Pulsar P2 2900 LED Digital Watch
  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513

The James Bond series started a new era with Roger Moore, and it was a huge success, with the budget of $7 million, the film brought $161.8 million in return. [5]

Pulsar P2 2900 LED Digital Watch

Pulsar P2 2900 is one of Bond’s watches in the movie, also the first successful mass produced digital watch in the world. The watch features a cushion case and a LED dial, simple bracelet and clasp with the logo on it. In the film, James Bond demonstrates twice on how it works.

When you push the button on the side, the LED time (Hour, Minus) lights up for about 1.25 seconds. If you push in and hold the button, it switches over to show you the Seconds. To adjust the time, you will need to use a magnet, which hides in the clasp. Watch the video below to enjoy this amazing timepiece in action.

Despite no extra features, the watch was retail at $2100 ($13,300 in 2019 dollars), Seiko acquired Pulsar in 1978 and marketed it as a mid range brand. [6]

Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513

The other Bond’s watch, Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, one of the longest models Rolex ever produced. Q made an upgrade to the watch with magnet and bezel saw, helping James Bond to get through critical moments.

The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513

Bonus Watch:

  • Rolex Cellini King Midas Ref. 9630
Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513

Roger Moore continues the adventure of the James Bond series in 1974, so does the Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513.

Do you know how many variants of Ref. 5513 Rolex ever produced? A long list which is more than enough to write a mini book on it.

The face of the watch has different options from gilt dial, matte dial, explorer dial and etc…

The text on the dial can be Serif or Non Serif font.

Does the water resistance mark start with feet or meters?

Is it an acrylic or sapphire crystal dial window?

To give you an idea, check out the video below.

Rolex Cellini King Midas Ref. 9630

There is a bonus watch worn by Francisco Scaramanga (the ultimate boss in the movie), a Rolex Cellini King Midas Ref. 9630, named after the ancient Greek king Midas who can turn anything into solid gold. The gold watch features an asymmetry case which was inspired from the famous Parthenon Temple in Athens.

The crafting process was a revolution in the 1960s. Rolex sculpts the watch from a single block of 18K yellow or white gold, and uses sapphire crystal as the dial window.

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Seiko 0674 5009 Quartz LC model DK001

Japanese quartz dominated the watch market in the mid 70s, forcing Swiss watches into depression for almost a decade. The Bond’s watch is also replaced with Seiko quartz, starting with the 10th James Bond movie in 1977.

Seiko 0674 5009 Quartz LC model DK001

Roger Moore received a message rolling out from the rectangular Seiko Ref. DK001 0674 5009 LC, which asked him to report back to HQ. The watch is a great step up from the previous Pulsar digital watch.

It comes with an AM or PM indicator and highlights the day of the week. Some Casio fans might notice that the watch looks like the infamous Casio F-91W, introduced later in 1989, maybe that’s where the inspiration came.

This is also the last movie in which Roger Moore had signed a three film contract with Eon Productions.

Moonraker (1979)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Seiko M354 5019 model SFX003 Memory-Bank Calendar

Moonraker cost so much that it’s more than the combined budget of all previous series. But it stood a box office record of $210.30 million until GoldenEye beat that in 1995. [7]

Eon production considered many actors to take over Roger Moore, but eventually Moore agreed to play Bond once again.

Seiko M354 5019 model SFX003 Memory-Bank Calendar

We are getting the Seiko M354 5019 model SFX003 Memory-Bank Calendar to join in the adventure.

The watch features a rectangular case affixed with a dazzling bracelet. The digital dial splits into two sections where the top half displays the Day, Date and Month, whereas the bottom part tells time in 12 or 24 hour mode.

To operate the illuminating light, push the bottom button at the side. In the movie, the watch has an explosive charge which helps Bond to escape from the Moonraker launch platform.

For Your Eyes Only (1981)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Seiko 7549-7009 ‘Golden Tuna’ 600m Professional Quartz Diver model S60583
  • Seiko H357 5040 Duo Display model WHV005

After the huge success of Moonraker, also known as the Bond In Space. Eon production decided to get back into a realistic storyline for the 12th James Bond series.

Once again, Roger Moore continues the role of James Bond and finally not one but two Seiko analog watches appear in the movie.

Seiko 7549-7009 ‘Golden Tuna’ 600m Professional Quartz Diver model S60583

Bond wears a Seiko 7549-7009 ‘Golden Tuna’ 600m Professional Quartz Diver model S60583 in a yellow submarine. The timepiece is famous for holding the following two records.

The first dive watch that is powered by a quartz movement.

The first dive watch with a titanium case.

The watch was designed after a tuna can. It has a titanium case and Seiko paints several parts of the watch with a special coating. The paint is a rare material called Titanium nitride, an extremely hard ceramic that has golden appearance.

The diver bezel surrounds a black dial, showing Day and Date at 3 o’clock. Further down at 6 o’clock, you can find the water resistance mark of 600 meters. The watch has a set of arrows and dot hour markers in bold, and luminated hands.

Seiko H357 5040 Duo Display model WHV005

The other Bond’s watch in the movie is the Seiko H357 5040 Duo Display model WHV005. It features a rugged square case which holds a dual dial. The main dial comes with baton hour markers and tells time with the slim sword hands, which are luminous.

You can set the top rectangular dial to display either the time or Day and Date. In the movie, it comes with a communication feature that interrupts Bond and Melina when they are making out on her father’s yacht.

Octopussy (1983)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Seiko G757 5020 Sports 100
  • Seiko TV Watch

This was the only James Bond series which features Bond’s Girl as the title. Maud Adams as Octopussy and as usual Roger Moore as James Bond.

This time Seiko brings two digital timepieces to the series.

Seiko G757 5020 Sports 100

James Bond wears a Seiko G757 5020 Sports 100 in the pre-title sequence of the movie. The watch has a squarish horseshoe case, and every feature you can ask for a modern digital timepiece. In the film, Q tweaked the watch to listen and track through a bug which is attached to the Fabergé Egg (a key jewelry in the movie).

Seiko TV Watch

The other watch is a Seiko TV watch which Bond uses to get an overview of their attack on Kamal’s Palace. The Seiko TV watches that were sold are different from the one in the movie. The retail watch features a square case, holding two separate dials. A rectangular dial on top displays the time date and day while the LCD dial below is for watching tv through an external receiver.

Check out the video below to see the watch in action.

Never Say Never Again (1983) – Non-Eon Film

James Bond Actor: Sean Connery

Bond’s Watch:

  • Unknown Watch

Sean Connery fans had waited 12 years after Diamonds Are Forever. He then returns as James Bond for one last time in Never Say Never Again. It’s the second non Eon film based on the Thunderball, produced by Taliafilm.

Sean Connery in Never Say Never Again

The Bond’s watch is nowhere to be found in the movie. But if I were to name a timepiece, it will be the classic Gruen Precision 510 which appears in the very first James Bond series.

James Bond fandom begs to differ, saying that it could be a futuristic Omega Seamaster. [8]

In Oct 2020, the legendary Bond died peacefully in his sleep. We will all remember him, especially the iconic line “Bond, James Bond”.

A View to a Kill (1985)

James Bond Actor: Roger Moore

Bond’s Watch:

  • Seiko 7A28-7020 Quartz Chronograph model SPR007
  • Seiko 6923-8080 Quartz model SPD094
  • Seiko H558-5000 model WHV005

Bonus Watch:

  • Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust 16013 SS/18K

This was the final James Bond series for both Roger Moore and Seiko.

There isn’t any close up shot on the Bond’s watches but don’t worry, we got you cover.

Seiko 7A28-7020 Quartz Chronograph model SPR007

The first watch is a Seiko 7A28-7020 Quartz Chronograph model SPR007. A stainless steel watch featuring a round case affixed to a president style bracelet. Thin bezel surrounding tachymeter markings on an elegant white dial, baton hour markers with slim sword hands to tell time.

There is a similar model (Ref. 7A38) with day-date (a feature which displays the day of the week and date). Both models are such a masterpiece, Seiko did a really good job in bringing out the elegant side of a sports watch.

Seiko 6923-8080 Quartz model SPD094

Second watch is barely seen at all, a fine and elegant dress watch worn in the Château de Chantilly scenes, a two tone Seiko 6923-8080 Quartz model SPD094. The watch features a round case with golden bezel surrounding a golden dial. Matching with luminated stick hands and hour markers. It also comes with a day-date window at 3 o’clock and a golden crown next to it.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust 16013 SS/18K

In the scene where Roger Moore found his dead partner in Rolls Royce. We spotted a Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust 16013 SS/18K instead of the two tone Seiko.

Well, the Rolex shouldn’t be appearing but Roger Moore wears it by accident because it looks like the two tone Seiko.

Seiko H558-5000 model WHV005

Last but not least, the Seiko H558-5000 model WHV005, which is revealed in the pre-title sequence when Bond digs agent 003 out of the snow. This is another “tuna can” watch, but it comes with a dual display. The entire watch is in black tone, with bold, luminated hour markers and hands to get things done underwater.

The watch has another famous bearer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, which he wears in several movies, such as Commando, Raw Deal and Predator…

Sir Roger Moore was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and passed away in May 2017, every other Bond actor paid tribute to Moore. [9]

MatchesWatch 101

Seiko Ref. 7A28 is the world’s first quartz analog chronograph movement. [10]

The Living Daylights (1987)

James Bond Actor: Timothy Dalton

Bond’s Watch:

  • Heuer Professional Night-Dive Ref. 980.031

After Roger Moore retired from the series, Timothy Dalton took over the role. The first James Bond movie for Dalton was quite a financial success, costing $40 million in returns of $191.2 million. [11]

Heuer Professional Night-Dive Ref. 980.031

This was the first and only James Bond movie to feature a Tag Heuer watch, and also the most number of characters wearing the same watch in the series.

The Heuer Professional Night-Dive Ref. 980.031, it’s in a matte black design where the diver bezel surrounds a luminous dial, the whole dial is luminous! It is a very daring and eye-catching design at that time, you can hardly find any other similar watch.

The watch uses a rare PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating. A painting technique that adds a black layer to steel, which produces a luxury matte color in black. But the downside is that it tends to scratch off easily and is almost impossible to find a watch in good condition.

Licence to Kill (1989)

James Bond Actor: Timothy Dalton

Bond’s Watch:

  • Rolex Submariner

In the last James Bond title to star Timothy Dalton, Bond brought back the Rolex Submariner as he pursues drug lords in Mexico and Florida.

Rolex Submariner

The watch has a date window at 3 o’clock, most likely a Ref. 16610 or Ref. 168000, it is really difficult to tell as there was no clear shot on the watch.

Although I’m not sure about the exact model Timothy Dalton had on his wrist. But there is another Submariner for his stunt double, Ref. 5513, which listed up for an auction. [12]

GoldenEye (1995)

James Bond Actor: Pierce Brosnan

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster 300 M Quartz Ref. 2541.80.00

The path of releasing GoldenEye was a tough one for Eon Production. They had to deal with legal disputes, Timothy Dalton resigned from the role of 007, M and M’s secretary was recast and Pierce Brosnan became the new Bond.

This was the first James Bond movie to feature the dissolution of Soviet Union and the end of the cold war.

Omega Seamaster 300 M Quartz Ref. 2541.80.00

There is never a brand like Omega that would be closely associated with James Bond. Omega became the largest supplier of British Navy in 1940, and while James Bond is a Navy Commander, they are bound to start a new 007 era.

To begin with, Omega presents the Seamaster 300 M Quartz Ref. 2541.80.00 in GoldenEye.

The watch features a 41 mm stainless steel case, blue diver bezel surrounding an iconic wave dial. Luminated hour markers and hands, helium escape valve at 10 o’clock and day window at 3 o’clock.

In the movie, Bond’s watch was affixed with a jubilee bracelet and his colleague 006 wears the same watch but a different band, a black leather strap.

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

James Bond Actor: Pierce Brosnan

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

In the 18th James Bond series, Pierce Brosnan continues to rock the role of agent 007 and we have the first Chinese ethic Bond’s girl, played by Michelle Yeoh.

Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

You might notice that the Bond’s watch, Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00, has the same appearance as the one in the previous title, except that it runs on mechanical movement instead of quartz. The watch has a special feature in the movie where Bond detonates a hand grenade with the helium valve.

Tomorrow Never Dies is the only James Bond film, led by Pierce Brosnan, not to open at number one at the box office. Well, it happens, because they are facing Titanic, the highest grossing movie of all time until 2010. [13]

The World Is Not Enough (1999)

James Bond Actor: Pierce Brosnan

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

For the final James Bond movie in the 20th century, Pierce Brosnan as agent 007 was assigned to protect Elektra King (a billionaire’s daughter).

Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

Bond wears the same watch from the past title, an Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00, but this time, it comes with two special features.

During the scene where the giant padded ball protects Bond and Elektra, he pushes in the crown, and the watch lights up the entire space with a luminous dial.

Another life saving feature is to fire a mini piton with cord, helping Bond and Dr. Christamas Jones (American nuclear physicist) to escape from a nuclear silo.

Die Another Day (2002)

James Bond Actor: Pierce Brosnan

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

The 18th and the final film to star Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, Die Another Day also marks the 40th anniversary for the series.

Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00

This is the third time where Omega Seamaster 300 M Chronometer Ref. 2531.80.00 being Bond’s watch, no wonder it is the best selling series of the Omega, thanks to James Bond.

In the movie, the helium valve acts as a detonator where Bond pins it into a suitcase with C4. He then sets a timer with the bezel, creating a huge blast at the pre-title sequence.

Casino Royale (2006)

James Bond Actor: Daniel Craig

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Big Size Ref. 2900.50.91
  • Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Chronometer 41 MM Ref. 2220.80.00

Pierce Brosnan retired from the role after fulfilling the contract. There were over 200 names to consider for the role, and Daniel Craig made it in the end. He has done a terrific job and received exceptional reviews for his role performance. Casino Royale also earns the most successful film of the year in the UK. [14][15]

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Big Size Ref. 2900.50.91

When Daniel Craig is out in action, he wears a black tone Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Big Size Ref. 2900.50.91, the watch sits on a case affixed with black rubber strap, a unidirectional rotating diver bezel surrounding a black color dial. Tri-Arabic hour markers, bold arrow hands luminated to perform under low light conditions. Not to forget the day window at 3 o’clock, helium escape valve at 10 o’clock.

There is a special 007 limited edition for the model, Ref. 2907.50.91, it features a 007 logo on the seconds hand, “Casino Royale” embossed and numbered case back.

The other watch which he wore throughout the movie is the Omega Seamaster 300 M Co-Axial Chronometer Ref. 2220.80.00, also the successor of the Seamaster Ref. 2531.80.00.

Both watches have a similar design. The one in Casino Royale has longer hands and unidirectional rotating bezel. Upgraded movement with Co-Axial escarpment, which means no servicing for a decade.

Quantum of Solace (2008)

James Bond Actor: Daniel Craig

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 2201.50.00

After the huge success of Casino Royale, I don’t think anyone would disagree with Daniel Craig continuing to be agent 007, not even himself. Quantum of Solace was a completely different style from the love story like Casino Royale. It’s more action packed, which Craig even had a few serious “scratches” when filming in Pinewood.

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 2201.50.00

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 2201.50.00 and the Planet Ocean Big Size Ref. 2900.50.91 from the previous title (Casino Royale) are like two peas in a pod, except the Ref. 2201.50.00 has a smaller case and lug to lug length.

Both watches use the same movement, Calibre Omega 2500, a self winding chronometer, with Co-Axial escapement. It has 48 hours of power reserve and finished with rhodium plating to enhance the durability and give a shiny look.

There is also a limited edition of the watch, Ref. 222.30.46.20.01.001.

The watch features a black dial in an embossed pattern that resembles the grip of Walther PPK (Bond’s signature weapon). It has an iconic seconds hand with a red tip and Quantum of Solace logo in the middle of the watch.

On the back of the watch, embossing logo of 007 with Walther PPK and engravings of “Planet Ocean Limited Edition” with series number up to 5007.

Skyfall (2012)

James Bond Actor: Daniel Craig

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Omega Co-Axial 42 MM Ref. 232.30.42.21.01.001
  • Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Omega Co-Axial 38.5 MM Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001

Skyfall claimed many achievements and is one of the most successful James Bond movies of all time.

The most Oscar nominated Bond film of all time. [16]

The first James Bond title to gross over $1 billion worldwide. [17]

The top earning film in the UK before Star Wars: The Force Awakens took over in 2015. [18]

I say half of the credit goes to Daniel Craig, and part of that goes to the watches he wore during Skyfall (laugh out loud). He sure has shaped the perfect James Bond in my generation (Millennials).

I know a lot of people are asking what watch does Bond wear in Skyfall? Hold your breath, the reference number is starting to get longer than you can imagine.

They are the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Omega Co-Axial 42 MM Ref. 232.30.42.21.01.001 and the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Omega Co-Axial 38.5 MM Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001.

Let’s dive right into the details.

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Omega Co-Axial 42 MM Ref. 232.30.42.21.01.001

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Omega Co-Axial 42 MM Ref. 232.30.42.21.01.001 appears in a Turkey scene where he matches with a grey Tom Ford suit and Jones Tetbury shoes.

The watch inherits it’s design from the Planet Ocean lineup. It was born with a Calibre Omega 8500. A self winding movement with Co-Axial escapement, decorated waves and jewels that stores up to 60 hours of power reserve.

The one in the movie is in titanium, a unique piece made for Skyfall, which was sold over 150k GBP at Christie. Omega is selling the steel version and we have no idea if they are going to release the titanium one. [19]

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Omega Co-Axial 38.5 MM Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001

Daniel Craig sure has a remarkable dressing sense. In the Scotland scenes, he wears a Barbour jacket together with the second Bond’s watch, an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Omega Co-Axial 38.5 MM Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001.

The watch features a blue dial with a teak concept finishing, which resembles the wooden decks of a luxury yacht. Having a sapphire crystal to protect the dial and give a glittering look. The polished bezel sits on a 38.5 mm stainless steel case affix with stainless steel bracelet.

The watch runs on the same movement as the Planet Ocean (the other Bond’s watch in the movie). It also comes with an exhibition case back to enjoy this beautiful mechanical movement.

Spectre (2015)

James Bond Actor: Daniel Craig

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41 MM “SPECTRE” Limited Edition Ref. 233.32.41.21.01.001

  • Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41.5 MM Ref. 231.10.42.21.03.003

Who else is more fit into the role of James Bond in Spectre besides Daniel Craig? He is rocking with three Omega watches in Spectre and Monica Bellucci finally returns as Bond’s girl after nearly two decades. She was one of the actresses auditioned for Bond’s girl in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).

Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41 MM “SPECTRE” Limited Edition Ref. 233.32.41.21.01.001

The top appearing watch in the movie is the Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41 MM “SPECTRE” Limited Edition Ref. 233.32.41.21.01.001, also the first Bond’s watch that was released as a limited edition model.

The watch delivers a black dial, golden triangle hour markers. A set of bold design hands and a black ceramic bi-directional bezel ring, engraved with numerals from 0 to 11. Everything sits on a 41 mm steel case affixed with a classic NATO strap. The watch is powered by Calibre Omega 8400, a self winding movement which is resistant to magnetism.

“SPECTRE” Limited Edition has only 7007 pieces and every bracelet’s strap holder is engraved with 007 gun logo and Omega.

Omega Chronograph Caliber. 321 Ref. ST 101.010

Bond found a watch to match with his Aston Martin DB5, and that is the vintage Omega Chronograph Caliber. 321 Ref. ST 101.010 from 1965. The watch features a silver dial with classic Chronograph subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. baton hour markers and tachymeter scale on the outer ring. Silver bezel, polished and sits on a 35 mm silver case affixed with leather strap.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41.5 MM Ref. 231.10.42.21.03.003

During the opening and near the end of the movie, Bond wears a Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial Chronometer 41.5 MM Ref. 231.10.42.21.03.003.

An identical model with the previous Bond’s watch (Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001) in Skyfall, except where the case is larger at 41.5 mm and it is resistant to magnetism.

No Time to Die (2021)

James Bond Actor: Daniel Craig

Bond’s Watch:

  • Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42 MM 007 Edition Ref. 210.90.42.20.01.001 / Ref. 210.92.42.20.01.001

It’s no secret that Daniel Craig continues the role in the 25th James Bond title, and Omega still is the brand of Bond’s watch.

MGM scheduled the release of No Time to Die in November 2019, but due to coronavirus, they have pushed back the plan to Oct 8 2021. [20]

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42 MM 007 Edition Ref. 210.92.42.20.01.001

We can spot the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42 MM 007 Edition from the trailer. The watch has two references, one with a NATO strap and the other affixed with a mesh bracelet.

The 42 mm watch features a black dial with golden hour markers, surprisingly there isn’t any date window. Omega placed a set of sword hands in bold to point out hours and minutes, and the brand chose a rare lollipop hand with a red line to sweep through seconds.

On the unidirectional dive bezel, we have the usual markings in golden color, a helium valve at 10 o’clock and crown with guards at 3 o’clock. We are not sure if Bond wears the NATO or bracelet version but let’s look forward to that in October.
